Project Chevelle

This page is dedicated to the progress of my current project

This project is a 1971 Chevelle SS 454, it currently has a small block 327 w/double humps, Muncie 4-speed trany, the cowl induction hood needs to be replaced. The plan is to update the engine with a late model corvette 350 TPI w/Aluminum Heads, 700R4 Trans.I'll replace the cowl induction hood with a reproduction model, I will also replace the suspension bushings body mounts with Energy Suspension Polyeruathne. Of course she'll need a new SS paint job, The sheet metal is pretty straight so hopefully I won't have to spend to much time on the body, I am toying with the idea of a frame off. Here are the before pictures, I also designed and fabricated a custom digital dash, I'll post some pictures of it as well so check back every now and then to see the progress. Also If any of you out there has a Chevelle project in the works I invite you to have it posted under this section. Just send the pics and descriptions of the various stages and I'll post it up. A final note on my project, It has been postponed temporarly I'm in the middle of overhauling my 88' c1500, and my 71 Heavy Chevy needs to be checked out (has a mild knock) before serious problems arise, and I'd like to get that on the road again so I'll have something to cruise in this summer.
